SUMMARY:Divine Liturgy
DESCRIPTION:Today the Church remembers the 350 holy Fathers of the Seventh Ecumenical Council under the holy Patriarch Tarasius (February 25). \nThe Synod of 787\, the second to meet at Nicea\, refuted the Iconoclast heresy during the reign of Empress Irene and her son Constantine VI. \nThe Council decreed that the veneration of icons was not idolatry (Exodus 20:4-5)\, because the honor shown to them is not directed to the wood or paint\, but passes to the prototype (the person depicted). DESCRIPTION:Today we celebrate the Afterfeast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. \nThe Holy Martyrs Trophimus\, Sabbatius and Dorymedon suffered for Christ during the reign of the Roman emperor Probus (276-282). SUMMARY:Divine Liturgy
DESCRIPTION:This is the Leavetaking of the Nativity of the Theotokos. \nWe also commemorate the Hieromartyr Autonomus. \nThe Hieromartyr Autonomus was a bishop in Italy. During the time of the persecution against Christians under the emperor Diocletian (284-305)\, Saint Autonomus left his own country and resettled in Bithynia\, in the locality of Soreus with a man named Cornelius. Saint Autonomus did his apostolic duty with zeal and converted to Christ so many pagans\, that a large Church was formed\, for which he consecrated a temple in the name of the Archangel Michael. For this church\, the saint at first ordained Cornelius as deacon\, and then presbyter. Preaching about Christ\, Saint Autonomus visited also Lykaonia and Isauria…the rest of the article is at:https://www.oca.org/saints/lives/2021/09/12/102585-hieromartyr-autonomus-bishop-in-italy

People often said that God must come into the world to restore faith and not permit the ruin of mankind. \nThe Son of God chose to take on human nature for the salvation of mankind\, and chose as His Mother the All-Pure Virgin Mary\, who alone was worthy to give birth to the Source of purity and holiness…the rest of the article can be found at: https://www.oca.org/saints/lives/2021/09/08/102541-the-nativity-of-our-most-holy-lady-the-mother-of-god-and-ever-vi
