SUMMARY:Festal Divine Liturgy of Ascension
DESCRIPTION:“I ascend unto My Father and your Father\, and to My God\, and Your God” (John 20:17). \nIn these words the Risen Christ described to Mary Magdalene the mystery of His Resurrection. She had to carry this mysterious message to His disciples\, “as they mourned and wept” (Mark 16:10). The disciples listened to these glad tidings with fear and amazement\, with doubt and mistrust. It was not Thomas alone who doubted among the Eleven. On the contrary\, it appears that only one of the Eleven did not doubt—Saint John\, the disciple “whom Jesus loved.” He alone grasped the mystery of the empty tomb at once: “and he saw\, and believed” (John 20:8). Even Peter left the sepulcher in amazement\, “wondering at that which was come to pass” (Luke 24:12).

SUMMARY:Festal Divine Liturgy - Entry of Our Lord into Jerusalem (Palm Sunday)
DESCRIPTION:Palm Sunday is the celebration of the triumphant entrance of Christ into the royal city of Jerusalem. He rode on a colt for which He Himself had sent\, and He permitted the people to hail Him publicly as a king. A large crowd met Him in a manner befitting royalty\, waving palm branches and placing their garments in His path. They greeted Him with these words: “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord\, even the King of Israel! SUMMARY:Divine Liturgy of the Meeting of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Temple
DESCRIPTION:The Meeting of our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ is described in the third Gospel (Luke 2:22-40). Forty days after His birth the Divine Child was brought to the Temple at Jerusalem to be presented to the Lord. According to the Law of Moses (Lev. 12:2-8)\, a woman who gave birth to a male child was forbidden to enter the Temple for forty days. At the end of the time of her purification\, the mother went to the Temple with the child\, to offer a young lamb\, two turtledoves\, or pigeons to the Lord as a sacrifice. The Most Holy Virgin had no need of purification\, since she had given birth to the Source of purity and sanctity. Out of humility\, however\, she fulfilled the requirements of the Law.

SUMMARY:Divine Liturgy of the Holy Theophany of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ
DESCRIPTION:Theophany is the Feast which reveals the Most Holy Trinity to the world through the Baptism of the Lord (Mt.3:13-17; Mark 1:9-11; Luke 3:21-22). God the Father spoke from Heaven about the Son\, the Son was baptized by Saint John the Forerunner\, and the Holy Spirit descended upon the Son in the form of a dove. From ancient times this Feast was called the Day of Illumination and the Feast of Lights\, since God is Light and has appeared to illumine “those who sat in darkness\,” and “in the region of the shadow of death” (Mt.4:16)\, and to save the fallen race of mankind by grace…to read more\, click:  https://www.oca.org/saints/lives/2023/01/06/100106-feast-of-the-theophany-of-our-lord-and-savior-jesus-christ

SUMMARY:Nocturns\, Matins and Paschal Divine Liturgy
DESCRIPTION:The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is the center of the Christian faith. Saint Paul says that if Christ is not raised from the dead\, then our preaching and faith are in vain (I Cor. 15:14). Indeed\, without the resurrection there would be no Christian preaching or faith. The disciples of Christ would have remained the broken and hopeless band which the Gospel of John describes as being in hiding behind locked doors for fear of the Jews. They went nowhere and preached nothing until they met the risen Christ\, the doors being shut (John 20: 19). Then they touched the wounds of the nails and the spear; they ate and drank with Him. The resurrection became the basis of everything they said and did (Acts 2-4): “. . . for a spirit has not flesh and bones as you see that I have” (Luke 24:39).read more… https://www.oca.org/saints/lives/2023/04/16/27-holy-pascha-the-resurrection-of-our-lord

SUMMARY:Festal Divine Liturgy of the Meeting of our Lord in the Temple
Out of humility\, however\, she fulfilled the requirements of the Law…click the following link to read the rest of the article: \nhttps://www.oca.org/saints/lives/2022/02/02/100407-the-meeting-of-our-lord-and-savior-jesus-christ-in-the-temple

SUMMARY:The Feast of Pentecost-Divine Liturgy served in church
DESCRIPTION:Please contact Fr. Andrew if you would like to register to attend the Divine Liturgy. \nIn the Church’s annual liturgical cycle\, Pentecost is “the last and great day.” It is the celebration by the Church of the coming of the Holy Spirit as the end—the achievement and fulfillment—of the entire history of salvation. For the same reason\, however\, it is also the celebration of the beginning: it is the “birthday” of the Church as the presence among us of the Holy Spirit\, of the new life in Christ\, of grace\, knowledge\, adoption to God and holiness…the article continues at oca.org.
