SUMMARY:Divine Liturgy - Sunday of the Samaritan Woman
DESCRIPTION:The holy Martyr Photina was the Samaritan Woman\, with whom the Saviour conversed at Jacob’s Well (John. 4:5-42). \nDuring the time of the emperor Nero (54-68)\, who displayed excessive cruelty against Christians\, Saint Photina lived in Carthage with her younger son Joses and fearlessly preached the Gospel there. Her eldest son Victor fought bravely in the Roman army against barbarians\, and was appointed military commander in the city of Attalia (Asia Minor). Later\, Nero called him to Italy to arrest and punish Christians…to read more\, click:  https://www.oca.org/saints/lives/2024/06/02/39-sunday-of-the-samaritan-woman

SUMMARY:Divine Liturgy - Sunday of the Blind Man
DESCRIPTION:At the end of Chapter 8 in Gospel of Saint John\, the Saviour was disputing with the Pharisees in the Temple during the Feast of Tabernacles. He told them\, “Your father Abraham was glad that he should see my day; and he saw it and rejoiced” (John 8:56). The Jews said that Jesus was not even fifty years old\, so how could He claim to have seen Abraham? The Lord replied\, “Before Abraham was\, I am.” I am\, of course\, is the name that God revealed to Moses in the Burning Bush. When the Jews picked up stones to throw at Him\, He hid Himself and went out of the Temple…to read more\, click:  https://www.oca.org/saints/lives/2024/06/09/40-sunday-of-the-blind-man

SUMMARY:Festal Divine Liturgy of Ascension
DESCRIPTION:“I ascend unto My Father and your Father\, and to My God\, and Your God” (John 20:17). \nIn these words the Risen Christ described to Mary Magdalene the mystery of His Resurrection. She had to carry this mysterious message to His disciples\, “as they mourned and wept” (Mark 16:10). The disciples listened to these glad tidings with fear and amazement\, with doubt and mistrust. It was not Thomas alone who doubted among the Eleven. On the contrary\, it appears that only one of the Eleven did not doubt—Saint John\, the disciple “whom Jesus loved.” He alone grasped the mystery of the empty tomb at once: “and he saw\, and believed” (John 20:8). Even Peter left the sepulcher in amazement\, “wondering at that which was come to pass” (Luke 24:12).

SUMMARY:Divine Liturgy
DESCRIPTION:On the seventh Sunday of Pascha\, we commemorate the holy God-bearing Fathers of the First Ecumenical Council. \nThe Commemoration of the First Ecumenical Council has been celebrated by the Church of Christ from ancient times. The Lord Jesus Christ left the Church a great promise\, “I will build My Church\, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Mt. 16:18). Although the Church of Christ on earth will pass through difficult struggles with the Enemy of salvation\, it will emerge victorious. The holy martyrs bore witness to the truth of the Saviour’s words\, enduring suffering and death for confessing Christ\, but the persecutor’s sword is shattered by the Cross of Christ…to continue reading\, click:  https://www.oca.org/saints/lives/2024/06/16/43-commemoration-of-the-holy-fathers-of-the-first-ecumenical-counci

SUMMARY:Festal Divine Liturgy of Holy Pentecost
DESCRIPTION:In the Church’s annual liturgical cycle\, Pentecost is “the last and great day.” It is the celebration by the Church of the coming of the Holy Spirit as the end—the achievement and fulfillment—of the entire history of salvation. For the same reason\, however\, it is also the celebration of the beginning: it is the “birthday” of the Church as the presence among us of the Holy Spirit\, of the new life in Christ\, of grace\, knowledge\, adoption to God and holiness…to continue reading\, click:  https://www.oca.org/saints/lives/2024/06/23/45-holy-pentecost

SUMMARY:Divine Liturgy
