Burial Preparation Seminar & Workshop

Our parish has become quite involved with the Ft Steele Cemetery, where we have an entire section dedicated to Orthodox burials.

We are hoping to send a few people to attend this seminar, near Spokane. Let us know if you are interested in going:

“Burial Preparation Seminar & Workshop” with Deborah Krajcik Saturday, June 6 9:00 am – 2:00 pm St. Luke Orthodox Church, 8216 E Big Meadows Rd, Chattaroy.

The agenda for the seminar will include: A Panikhida service; open discussion/questions about: death, the process of dealing with a loved one dying, the continuum of support from traditional to green burial, end-of-life counseling/spiritual discussions, body preparation, etc; needed supplies for those desiring body preparation by the ministry team (Preparation can be at a funeral home, at home, or at church.); hands-on practice session for those who are interested in participating or just learning about the process of preparing a body for burial Break-out discussion time for attendees from each local parish.

About Our Speaker – Deborah Krajcik has been an Orthodox Christian for over 40 years and is an active member of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Springfield, VT. With a professional background in education that includes work throughout New Hampshire for the state Dept. of Education, she became involved in burial preparation ministry after the tragic death of her mother in 2005. Deborah has been giving workshops with the blessing of His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon, since 2022.
