Joining our Men’s Coffee Mornings on the 3rd Saturday of the month, we now have a Ladies Coffee Morning on the 4th Saturday of every month. Ladies only, no children except for nursing mothers as we have no childcare available. Contact Matushka Victoria for more information.

Discovering Orthodoxy

Reminder to join us as we discuss the book “Living as a Christian in a World that has rejected God” by Archimandrite Roman Braga. Contact Fr Andrew to find out what chapter we are on this week!

Wednesdays at 7:30pm for 1.5 hr. sessions. There is no requirement to commit to attending every session; just join in as you are able. Please send Fr Andrew an email to confirm you are coming and so he has your preferred e-mail to add to the Zoom link mail-out list.

The study will be in the usual format. We will each try to read one chapter a week before the weekly session and will underline or make notes of anything that sparks our attention. We will then take turns reading through the chapter as a group and pause after each page or section to discuss what we may have noted, or anything that stands out as we read.

Fr Andrew has selected a book by a wonderful modern saint, (reposed in 2015) Archimandrite Roman Braga. It is most timely as even though Fr. Roman reposed less than 10 years ago, he has just been brought forward to consider for Glorification a few days ago by Archbishop Nathaniel and the Romanian branch of the OCA! The book we will be studying, “Living as a Christian in a World that Rejects God” is set up in a very accessible Q and A format, where Fr. Roman is asked many questions by a very gifted journalist and one of his spiritual children, to explain with wonderful love and simplicity the Orthodox understanding of: How to enter into a relationship with God; Growing in the Image of God; Sacramentality, the Holy Liturgy, the work of the Holy Spirit; Love of neighbor; Fasting, Prayer, the Saints and Angels; Raising Children, developing their personality, Countering the secular world’s influence; Love of neighbors and so-called enemies – And so much more!

As a gift from Fr Andrew’s recently departed Mother Dorothy – may her memory be eternal – we have received 2 cases of this book and so there will be no charge for the book to anyone wishing to join in the book study.
