Many of you have been reading these books and many others listening to some of his podcasts. They turn the traditional history commonly taught in the West, which ignores the Orthodox Church of the East completely, on its head! The lectures will be based loosely on his books but open to Questions and Answers and discussion.

Book 1: “The Age of Paradise” Christendom From Pentecost to the First Millennium

Book 2: “The Age of Division” Christendom From the Great Schism to the Protestant Reformation

Book 3 “From the Renaissance to the Russian Revolution”

Book 4 “The Age of Nihilism” Christendom From the Great War to the Culture Wars (up to the current Russian /Ukrainian War)

Fr. John is a History Professor with 25 years of teaching experience and an Orthodox Archpriest (OCA) and Rector of St. Elizabeth the New Martyr Church in Puget Sound Washington. We have a few copies of his books in the library and also a few for sale in the bookstore. Whether you have never read much Church history, or if you have a particular interest in Church history, you will enjoy Fr. John’s great ability to tell great stories while covering everyone you might have heard of a rare treat.

Please do pass this around to anyone you think might be interested. Please let us know if you are planning on joining us.
