Volunteers Needed
We will be doing a few last-minute jobs around the church Friday before Archbishop Irénée joins us around 4:00-4:30 in the afternoon:
Rake the lawn, bring your own rake, please
Retrieve extra chairs from hall basement, bring back our picnic tables, and remove the last of our stuff from the hall
Wipe/clean all chairs
Sweep concrete, patio area and move fridges into shed
Borrow black tables from hall Friday afternoon
Anyone with bar stools; church needs to borrow them for the weekend
Kitchen:
We are planning to prepare food ahead of time for when Archbishop Irenee comes to bless our church on September 23rd.
On Friday morning, September 22, we will be making large salads for our Saturday Celebration Luncheon at 10am, as well as making vegan apple crisps and organizing the downstairs for the Soup Supper which follows the Friday evening Vespers service. We are hoping to have all the tables set, beverages made up and food all prepped and ready to serve before services start on Saturday morning. This way we hope everyone will be able to sit down and enjoy the service and meal. For Friday supper, three people are bringing soup and bread, and hummus will also be provided – you can anything else vegan you would like to contribute to this potluck supper.
Also if you would like to bring flowers on Friday to decorate the nave and narthex upstairs, please bring them in vases/containers. Thank you:)
Clean-up help is always welcome. Let us know if you have any questions or if you can help in any way.
We will be buying a large celebration cake and other accompanying food. We are expecting about 100 people on Saturday. Sunday will be our usual potluck and/or leftovers from Saturday.
