St. Vladimir

Today we commemorate St. Vladimir, Equal of the Apostles, and Enlightener of Rus’.

Both his grandmother, St. Olga, and his mother, Princess Malusha, were Christians. Eventually, Prince Vladimir was also baptized into the Orthodox Christian faith, along with his army and the people of Kyiv, and Christianity began to spread throughout the Slavic world.
